23 Nov World Suicide Prevention Day event at Atherleigh Hospital
Our founding director, Ellie, was invited to the World Suicide Prevention Day event at Atherleigh Hospital in Leigh. It was a significant community event bringing together representatives from various mental health sectors, all united by a common goal; to create a suicide safer community for us all. The event was not only enlightening but also provided a fantastic platform for networking and collaboration. Among the attendees were key figures from the police force, the NHS, and other mental health organisations. Ellie found the discussions and presentations highly informative. They highlighted the scope of the collective effort that is being put into ensuring the safety and well-being of our communities. It was an opportunity to understand the challenges faced by all our organisations and the strategies we are each implementing to overcome them. Engaging with professionals from the police, the NHS, and GMMH, were particularly noteworthy as they emphasised the interconnection between community safety, healthcare, and mental health. Ellie also shared some of her own powerful life story and how her lived experience has informed some of the work we do at EPiC HOPE.
