We’re delighted to welcome Andrea Beacon as our new Director of Risk, Quality & Business Support.
Her expertise in governance, assurance, business continuity, and management coordination is matched by her hands-on experience in both social care and healthcare.
Throughout her career, Andrea has established a reputation for building strong, resilient systems that keep people safe and organisations prepared, often in complex, fast-moving environments. She’s passionate about supporting teams to do their best work, and she brings a keen focus on training and development to everything she does.
In this role, Andrea will be helping us strengthen our approach to risk management, ensure a culture of quality, and support every part of our organisation to deliver on our mission; preventing suicide and providing hope. Her integrity, compassion, and commitment to continuous improvement make her an outstanding addition to our leadership team.
Andrea joins us alongside a senior role in the aviation sector, where she is a Risk, Opportunity & Capability Manager at a leading global company.

Sam Southern
Director of Governance, Safeguarding & Strategy (Bereavement Services Lead)
Sam is a strategic leader known for her expertise in governance, safeguarding, and organisational strategy. As the architect behind Solace, an award-winning suicide bereavement service covering the Fylde Coast, Sam combines her clinical background as a qualified mental health nurse with a passionate commitment to supporting people, families, and communities affected by suicide.
Her work is deeply informed by lived experience, having lost her husband to suicide six years ago. This personal journey has shaped her approach. It’s practical, empathetic, and fiercely dedicated to creating safer, more supportive systems. Sam’s leadership of Solace demonstrates her ability to build and sustain services that are both comprehensive and compassionate, always underpinned by strong governance and safeguarding principles.
She is relentless in her pursuit of better outcomes for those at risk and those bereaved, bringing fresh strategic thinking and a collaborative spirit to every challenge. Sam’s vision, resilience, and authenticity continue to strengthen our organisation’s capacity to prevent suicide and provide hope.
Ian Taberner
Director of Outreach & Mobile Services
Ian brings both practical know-how and genuine compassion to his role as Director of Outreach & Mobile Services. With years of management experience in the auto industry, Ian has a knack for building strong teams and getting things done, skills he now channels into running our outreach programmes and coordinating our unique Mobile Harbours.
He is also a driving force behind EPiC MEN, our men’s groups designed to create safe spaces for honest conversation and connection. Ian’s approach is hands-on and people-first, always focused on helping people find hope and a better way forward. His steady presence, empathy, and commitment to breaking down barriers make him a vital part of our leadership team and the communities we serve.
Peter Gregory
Director of Wellbeing & Belonging
Pete is the heart behind our wellbeing and belonging work, known for his gentle compassion and his unwavering belief that everyone matters. As Director of Wellbeing & Belonging, Pete brings people together, not just within our own community, but far beyond it. He’s a skilled connector, working hand-in-hand with other organisations and partners across the region, because he knows that collaboration can save lives.
Pete coordinates Harbour Hikes, our collaborative Walk and Talks, leads EPiC Explorers 55+, co-leads EPiC MEN groups, and is always there for anyone who needs support or simply a sense of belonging. His gift for building genuine relationships has helped shape EPiC HOPE into a place where people feel seen, heard, and welcomed, not just by us, but by a whole network of caring allies. Pete’s work makes our belief in the power of connection and collaboration a daily reality, strengthening our mission to bring hope and prevent suicide for everyone we reach.
